Financial Assistance Scheme

MOE has many schemes to support the educational needs of Singaporean students especially those from low-incomefamilies.  The table below summaries the criteria and the benefits of the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme as well as School Advisory Committee Financial Assistance Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for MOE FAS

The student is a Singapore Citizen and meets one of the following conditions:
a) The family's Gross Household Income (GHI) does not exceed $2,500 per month; or
b) The family’s Per Capita Income (PCI) does not exceed $625*; or
c) The family is in receipt of social welfare aid under the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports Public      


Assistance (MCYS PA) Scheme ; or

d) The student is a resident in one of the approved welfare homes.

Full waiver of $5.00 per month

 

Standard Miscellaneous Fees

Full waiver of $10.00 per month

 

Textbooks

Free textbooks include writing materials and art and craft materials and stationery items shown in the school booklist,

 

School Attire

Free school uniform, PE attire, shoes and socks 

School shoe

Free one pair of school shoes  

Transport (From 1 April 2015)

Students taking public transport: $120 transport credit per annum

 

Eligibility Criteria for SAC FAS

The student meets one of the following conditions:

a)    The family's Gross Household Income (GHI) does not exceed $3000 per month; or

b)    The family’s Per Capita Income (PCI) does not exceed $750*; or

c)    The family is incurring high long term medical expenses for any family members; or

d)    The family has suffered from a sudden loss of income from the sole breadwinner due to injury or death or other

        misfortune.

Students who wish to apply for the scheme can obtain the application form from General Office, or download a copy of the MOE-fas-application-form. All application forms must be submitted together with the relevant documents to the schools directly.
