The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund


The application for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF) is now open for students who will be continuing their studies in Deyi Secondary School next year. The closing date for all students to submit the application to the school’s General Office will be Tuesday, 21 August 2018.

 

Students have to meet the following criteria:

a. Student is a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR); and

b. Family is living in a 4-room HDB flat or smaller; and

c. Family has a Gross Per Capita Income (PCI) of $625/ month or less; and

d. Student is receiving full-time formal education at a mainstream Primary/Secondary School/ Junior College/Centralised Institute/ Mixed Level/Specialised School/Independent School/Specialised Independent School/ MOE-designated full-time Madrasahs; and

e. Is not concurrently receiving school pocket money fund from disbursing agencies; and

f.  Is not concurrently receiving other similar monthly school pocket money schemes (Note that applicants under MOE Financial Assistance Scheme are eligible); and

g. Has not been a STSPMF beneficiary for more than 24 months for the whole schooling years of primary and secondary education or more than 48 months for the schooling years of post-secondary education.

 

Students from low-income families, including MOE FAS students, who are successful in their applications will receive the monthly school pocket money of $95. Successful applicants will be notified through the schools by first week of January 2019. 

 

Note: Current beneficiaries would have to submit their latest CPF statements and only those who are unemployed and does not have CPF may use the income declaration form.
