Financial Assistance Scheme

MOE has many schemes to support the educational needs of Singaporean students especially those from low-income families.  The table below summaries the criteria and the benefits of the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme as well as School Advisory Committee Financial Assistance Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for MOE FAS

The student is a Singapore Citizen and meets one of the following conditions:
a) The family's Gross Household Income (GHI) does not exceed $2,750 per month; or
b) The family’s Per Capita Income (PCI) does not exceed $690*; or
c) Receiving the MSF ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance or Long-Term Assistance (also known as Public Assistance); or

d) The student is a resident in one of the approved welfare homes.

Full waiver of $5.00 per month 
Standard Miscellaneous Fees Full waiver of $10.00 per month 
Textbooks Free textbooks include writing materials and art and craft materials and stationery items shown in the school booklist
School AttireFree school uniform, PE attire, shoes and socks
Transport
(Wef 1 April 2020)
Students taking public transport: $180 transport credit per annum
(If the FAS application approval is not from Jan, the transport subsidy will be pro- rated accordingly from the month after the application is approved to December of the same year.)
School meals
(Wef 1 April 2020)
$2.90 per meal for 10 school meals in a week (Total: $29 per week)

The student meets one of the following conditions:

a)    The family's Gross Household Income (GHI) does not exceed $3300 per month; or

b)    The family’s Per Capita Income (PCI) does not exceed $825*.

Students who wish to apply for the scheme can obtain the application form from General Office, or download a copy of the MOE-fas-application-form. All application forms must be submitted together with the relevant documents to the schools directly.
