Release of 2024 Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level Examination Results and 2025 Joint Admissions Exercise

1. The results of the 2024 Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) examination will be released on Friday, 10 January 2025, 2.30pm.

Results Release for School Candidates

2. Arrangements have been made for school candidates to receive their results from their secondary schools from 2.30pm on Friday, 10 January 2025. Details on the collection arrangements will be shared by the respective schools.

 3. School candidates who are unable to collect their results in person can appoint a proxy to collect a physical copy of their results on their behalf from the school. Proxies are required to produce the relevant documents for the school’s verification when collecting the results. School candidates may contact their schools for assistance if they are unable to appoint a proxy.

Results Release for Private Candidates

 4. Private candidates who are eligible for Singpass can use their Singpass account to obtain their results online via SEAB’s Candidates Portal from 3.15 pm on Friday, 10 January 2025 to 11pm, Friday, 24 January 2025. Private candidates who are not eligible for Singpass can view their results in the portal using the account that they have created during the registration.

Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE)

5. Students who wish to apply for admission to junior colleges (JC), Millennia Institute (MI), polytechnics, and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) may do so via the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) using their GCE O-Level examination results.

 6. Eligible school and private candidates will receive a digital copy of Form A1 via their registered email addresses from 3pm on Friday, 10 January 2025. All candidates eligible for JAE may also download a copy of Form A from the JAE-Internet System (JAE-IS) during the application period.

 7. The JAE-IS will be accessible from 4pm on Friday, 10 January 2025, to 4pm on Wednesday, 15 January 2025 for applicants to submit their course choices through the JAE website at www.moe.gov.sg/jae. Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete the JAE worksheet (www.moe.gov.sg/jaeworksheet) before submitting their online application. The JAE-IS can be accessed using Singpass. Application Results

8. The posting results of the JAE application will be released on Tuesday, 4 February 2025 via:

a. Short Message Service (SMS) to the Singapore mobile phone number provided by the applicant during application

b. JAE-IS, which is accessible through the JAE website

 9. Applicants posted to JCs and MI are to report to their posted institutions on Wednesday, 5 February 2025. If they are unable to do so due to valid reasons, they should contact their posted school directly to confirm that they are taking up the place, and the school will reserve the place for them.

 10. Applicants posted to ITE will receive an email with the enrolment details on Tuesday, 4 February 2025, and applicants posted to polytechnics will receive their enrolment details by end-February 2025.

Direct School Admission (DSA) – JCs

11. Students who had accepted offers through the 2024 Direct School Admission for junior colleges2 (DSA-JC) will be admitted to their chosen JC if they have met the JC admission criteria based on their GCE O-Level examination results. Students admitted to a JC through DSA-JC will not be eligible to participate in the JAE.

 12. Students who do not meet the JC admission criteria may take part in the JAE to apply for other courses which they are eligible for.

Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) – Polytechnics

 13. For students who had earlier accepted conditional offers to a polytechnic course through the Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise3 (EAE) in 2024, their offers would have been confirmed and they will not be eligible to participate in the JAE, if they meet the following criteria:

a) A net ELR2B2 score4 of 26 points5 or lower for the GCE O-Level examinations; and

b) Minimum Entry Requirements for the respective polytechnic courses.

14. Students who do not meet the above criteria may instead apply for polytechnic admission via the JAE for courses which they are eligible for.

Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) – ITE

 15. For students who had earlier accepted conditional offers to an ITE course through the ITE EAE6 in 2024, their offers would have been confirmed based on their GCE O-Level examination results, once they meet the subject-specific Minimum Entry Requirements for the course.

Progression Pathways for Secondary Four Normal (Academic) Students

 16. Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) [N(A)] students who have sat for GCE O-Level subjects in 2024 can use their GCE O-Level results to apply for a place in the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) and Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP).

Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP)

 17. The PFP is an alternative to the Secondary 5 N(A) year. It is a one-year foundation programme offered at the polytechnics which provides students with a practice-oriented approach to prepare them for entry into the relevant diploma courses.

 18. Students are eligible to apply for the PFP if they obtain a raw ELMAB3 aggregate7 of 12 points or lower and meet the subject-specific requirements for their chosen course.

 19. PFP-eligible students will receive a copy of Form P from their respective secondary schools in person. Each copy of Form P contains a unique password. Interested students should use their respective passwords to submit their applications online via the PFP website at pfp.polytechnic.edu.sg/PFP/index.html. More information on the eligibility requirements for the PFP, as well as how GCE O-Level results are considered in the computation of the ELMAB3 aggregate, can be found on the PFP website indicated above.

 20. Applications for the PFP will open from 1.30pm on Friday, 10 January 2025, to 4pm on Wednesday, 15 January 2025. The PFP posting results will be released at 1.30pm on Wednesday, 22 January 2025 through the PFP website. Students will thereafter be required to indicate whether they wish to accept, reject, or appeal for a change of course by 4pm on Monday, 27 January 2025.

Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)

 21. The DPP8 prepares students for progression into selected polytechnic diploma courses via a two-year Higher Nitec course at ITE. Students are eligible to apply if they obtain a raw ELMAB3 aggregate of 19 points or lower and meet the subject-specific requirements for their chosen course.

 22. Eligible Secondary 4 N(A) students may submit their DPP applications online via the DPP application portal at www.ite.edu.sg/apply-for-ite-courses. Applications for the DPP will open from 12am on Friday, 10 January 2025, to 11.59pm on Tuesday, 14 January 2025.

 23. The DPP posting results for applications made under the final application phase will be released at 9am on Wednesday, 17 January 2025 through the DPP application portal. Students will be required to indicate whether they accept or reject the DPP offer by 11.59pm on Tuesday, 21 January 2025.

For successful DPP and/or PFP applicants

 24. Students who have been offered a place in the DPP under the final application phase should report to ITE on Wednesday, 22 January 2025 upon acceptance of their DPP course offer.

 25. The last day of school for Secondary 5 students who have accepted a place in the PFP will be on Friday, 31 January 2025. Students will be informed by the respective polytechnics on the enrolment dates for the PFP.

 26. Students who have accepted a place in the earlier application phase of the DPP in December but decide to take up a PFP offer now must withdraw from the DPP first before they are able to take up the PFP offer. DPP-enrolled students should check with their ITE class advisor for more details on the DPP withdrawal process and deadlines for withdrawal.

28. Students may also consult their teachers or ECG Counsellors in their respective secondary schools about their next steps. Alternatively, they can make an ECG counselling appointment via the ECG Centre @ MOE at  go.gov.sg/moe-ecg-centre. The ECG Centre @ MOE offers online or phone counselling services from 6 to 16 January 2025, from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays.
